opus111 In search of the fabled mono mix of Their Satanic Majesties.... I love it but the existing mixes are all over the map. This alt take's wild & wonky.
opus111 Late afternoon vacation beers and James Brown.
opus111 A super stellar something on my mind! In My Own Time (1971).
opus111 Warm greetings from the east coast of Canada. Appreciating the clean air & listening to Judee Sill's folk gem, Heart Food (1973).

opus111 J, Tal & I leaving Cairo tonight -- red eye late / early -- & looking forward to July in various parts of Canada.
opus111 Never enjoyed either Pollard's drunken ramblings or the general spectacle that was a GBV show, but I still return to some of their stuff & dig it.
opus111 RIP Ornette Coleman. When I first heard your music, it was challenging. Later, much of it became beautiful. NY Times obit: http://nyti.ms/1G2ZC6c

opus111 Look for Kid Ory's Creole Jazz Band (1954) if you want to hear classic N Orleans stuff in great sound. Listening while building Lego Mosques with Tal.
opus111 Just finished This is Your Brain on Music by Daniel J. Levintin. A good read. In the acknowledgments, he lists this among his fave songs.

opus111 Picked up a great French comp of BB's earliest material a few years back. This is from his first LP (ca. 1956). RIP.
opus111 R.I.P B.B. 'Live at the Regal' is one of my fave blues albums. (Never understood why MCA never issued the whole show.) This one's from Kinshasa 1974.
