voyou Thinking about the dialectic between the monotonous rhythm and the lurching, uneven rhythm of Kesha's rap/singing.
voyou Hey Twitter people, can you help me remember what this Keri Hilson track reminds me of?
voyou Ke$ha's got so few good tunes on her new EP, it's a shame she wasted this great "Barbie Girl" remake on horribly heteronormative lyrics.

voyou Best pop-reggae track since "All That She Wants" Y/Y?

voyou With the handclaps and the cheery bitchiness, this is pretty much Taylor's version of "Ooh Stick You"

voyou I hope Calle 13 had a word with Shakira about her cosy relationship with Uribe

voyou Excellently wonky beat from The Pack.

voyou So I guess this is Selena's promised "reggae" track. It's no Ace of Base, or even "Stars Are Blind," I'm sad to say (it's a bit No Doubt, though).
voyou Find it slightly odd (though not unpleasant) that Berkeley hyphy types are now rapping over ten year old Dutch commercial dance
voyou The video's maybe a bit Oakland-hipster, but this is a great tune - like Ikonika gone massively pop.
voyou Everything else I've heard from Sky Ferreira is pretty meh, but this is amazing (and not going to be released in the US - WTF, record labels?)
voyou There's something pleasingly monumental about a lot of recent synthey R&B/pop ballads.
voyou Robyn rejects the usual awfulness of Radio 1's Live Lounge with a great cover of Alicia Keys

Robyn / Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart (Radio 1's Live Lounge 2010)

voyou I didn't know I wanted to listen to a seven-minute jazz-disco odyssey, but it turns out I do.
voyou Even MIA's jumping on the Daphne and Celeste/Fannypack bandwagon (although not to terribly good effect)
voyou Bling as utopia, or, the dialectical salvation of the commodity.
voyou Hearing Kylie do Madonna pastiche makes it clear just how weird our permanently retro era is.
voyou Nothing on the album comes close to "Party in the USA," but this at least has a pleasing kitchen-sink quality to it.
voyou Not sure why I don't just listen to this record all the time.
voyou Japanese pop-punk! Particularly like the "Riot Girl" department store bag.
